Hi, I’m Thomas
CAMTC #88302
Current Schedule: Fridays 8AM-3PM
I am a hard of hearing (HoH), transgender man, and massage therapist working in Oakland, CA (he/him/his). I am a graduate of the San Fransisco School of Massage and Bodywork, and I am certified via the California Massage Therapy Council (CAMTC).
I practice massage to provide a safe space and facilitate healing for marginalized communities, such as queer, trans, and/or Deaf-HoH folks. My primary philosophy is that none of us can truly be at peace until we find comfort and safety within our own, individual bodies. As a therapist I focus on delivering services to those less often offered the opportunity to experience transformation and connection through safe and healing touch.
My Approach
I offer both soothing massage techniques, meant to bring calmness to your body, and therapeutic massage techniques, meant to bring balance to your body. I blend Swedish and deep tissue techniques with targeted myofacial release to encourage mobility, relieve pain, and deepen your mind-body connection. Techniques offered include, but are not limited to:
Deep tissue massage
Scar tissue massage
Myofacial release
Propriosceptive neuromuscular facilitation
Pregnancy massage for all birthing bodies
What to expect …
Respect
Receiving a massage is a vulnerable act. It takes trust to allow someone else to openly work with you and your body. As a practitioner, it is my most important goal to treat you, your body, and your identity with the upmost respect. I will work with you to communicate, refer to, and touch your body in the ways that you are most comfortable with throughout the duration of our work together.
Communication
During the entirety of the massage process your personal comfort and respected boundaries are my main concern. While on my table we will work together to ensure you’re comfortable with every aspect of the massage. Ample, honest communication will provide the foundation for a safe and effective massage.
Relief
Massage provides many benefits to the body that are not only immediately perceived during the work, but also long lasting, including:
Pain relief, release of muscle tension/stress
Lowering of blood pressure
Movement/circulation of lymphatic fluid
Improved blood circulation
Reduction of stress/anxiety
Enhanced bodily connection
